Designed by Federico Soriano and Dolores Palacios, the Euskalduna Congress and Music Centre of Bilbao is located in the heart of the city.
The Euskalduna is located between San Mamés football stadium and the end of the Paseo (promenade) of Abandoibarra. The spacious building is home to events, meetings and concerts/shows.
Its singular design, as if it were a ship being built with its characteristic red – almost rust – colour, won the Enric Miralles prize in the 6th biennial of Spanish architecture.
Music, theatre, opera
The Palacio Euskalduna offers a range of cultural activities: theatre plays, opera, zarzuela (Spanish operetta) and other music concerts. It is also home to the opera season of ABAO, one of the most important and prestigious opera groups in Europe. It is also the seat of the Orkesta Sinfonikoa (Bilbao Symphony Orchestra).
The reference convention centre in Biscay
The Euskalduna Jauregia Congress and music centre focuses on the organisation of conventions and events in a large number of congress rooms, meeting rooms, an exhibition hall and a large auditorium.
