With around 460 events and 1 million visitors per year, the BEC keeps up with the times as a 170,000 m² space for everyone and all kinds of events.

The BEC is much more than a trade fair and congress venue, it represents versatility and innovation. It organises fairs for both professionals and the general public, conventions, international congresses, concerts, shows, film and advert shoots, concert–dinners, galas, presentations, cinema with live music, commemorations, large-scale public competitive exams, etc.
Designed incorporating the latest tendencies seen in similar large venues in the world (Chicago, London, Singapore, Munich, Hanover and Milan), the BEC incorporates innovative and technologically advanced construction elements in its six column-free pavilions, one of them multipurpose (Biscay Arena), to host all kinds of events. Its convention centre with its modern architectural exterior and interior design with an auditorium, VIP reception area and ‘Luxua’ pavilion with its wood finish for special events also gives a special identity to this space.
The venue opened in 2004, bringing together the experience of more than 120 years of fairs and exhibitions in a territory whose spirit is marked by its vocation for progress. Since then, the BEC has seen a long and intense decade full of memorable moments. A photography exhibition in the atrium with the best images of the last 10 years recalls this period, the BEC’s commitment to people and companies, and the economic stimulation of the territory.
